GET
INVOLVED!
How can I get involved?
You are welcome to be a part
of the Delaware Optimist Club programs! Our Club would
not exist without all its hard working, dedicated members
and volunteers!
Whether it's a little or a lot,
rest assured your help is very much appreciated, desired and
needed! There are many ways to help out - here are
just a few:
- Become a football
coach or assistant coach
- Become a cheerleading
advisor
- Introduce two students from
one school for Youth
Appreciation
- Help us sort football equipment
for one afternoon in the spring
- Come to an event and take
photos for our website
- Help out with football
and cheerleading registrations in June
- Volunteer to head up a committee
Sometimes the best way to figure
out how you can help is just to show up and see what's going
on. Check our calendar for
upcoming events or drop us a line at membership@delawareoptimistclub.com
to see what's happening.
Meeting
Information
We are
meeting the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:00
p.m. Right now we are searching for a regular meeting
location, so we have been meeting at various
locations.
Please
email us at membership@delawareoptimistclub.com
if you would like to attend so we can let you know where
we're meeting.
FAQs
FAQ: Do I have to join in
order to help out?
Most opportunities to help
out do not require membership in order to participate.
(Of course we always welcome new members, though!)
Exceptions would be head football coaches and committee
chairs; those people need to be members of the club in order
to hold those positions.
FAQ: Who do I contact to help
out?
If a specific person's email
address is not on the page along with the program or event
you're interested in, visit the contact
page. If you still can't find what you're looking for, email
membership@delawareoptimistclub.com
and we'll put you in touch with the right person.
FAQ: What is the cost to join
the club and are there any requirements?
The cost to be in the club
is $60 per year. There is an initial one-time fee of $15
for paperwork processing that Optimist International charges.
The only requirement is you must be at least 18 years of
age.
FAQ: Will the Delaware Optimist
Club help us out with a project?
We are always interested in
helping out kids in the community. Assuming we have the
manpower and time, we generally will get involved in any
community youth program and are open to new ideas and projects.
Please contact us if you
are aware of a community or youth program that you think
we'd be a good fit for. We generally seek to serve kids
and groups as a whole as opposed to sponsoring individual
students on specific projects, but you're always welcome
to ask us about anything!
FAQ: When and how do I sign
my child up for football or cheerleading?
Visit the football
and cheerleading
registration pages for exact dates, times and location.
While you're at registration, ask us about coaching. It's
very rewarding!
If your question is not answered
here or you want more information about anything our Club
does, please contact us.
